Campbell, Ian Brock.
July 2, 1931 – January 8, 2010.
Passed away peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg as the result of a stroke, suffered on December 18, 2009. Beloved and devoted husband of Eleanor for 54 years, loving and supportive father of Alexandra and Brock (Mindy), and cherished grandfather of Eleanor and Katie who brought him much joy and happiness.
Ian and Eleanor had a wonderful life together and travelled extensively to Europe and the Middle East, where their favourite city was Cairo. For the past 20 years, they have enjoyed their life in Port Hope where for many years, they were active participants in the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario on the House Tour and Garden Tour Committees. They both enjoyed cooking and entertaining with a wide circle of friends who will miss Ian and his wonderful desserts.
After graduating from Columbia University with an M.A in political history, Ian entered the advertising world, and held a number of senior media and management positions with several national and international agencies, including Cockfield Brown and Needhan, Harper & Steers as Senior Vice President and Executive Director of Advertising Services.
Cremation has taken place, with no memorial service. If so inclined, the family would appreciate a contribution to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
