Good Morning Mrs. Oliver.
The Smile that a lot of us treasure for life.
Passed on into another journey to teach day and night.
The learning of holding a crayon, splashing paint and drawing Mom and Dad. This was a teacher that got that feeling out of you, happy or sad.
“Determination was what we all learned from her”
The Santa Clauses we all made, as big as we were.
I suppose today we still have them in our closets somewhere.
The Handprint in plaster from day one, as we watched ourselves grow and share it with our daughters or sons. The scissors she taught us not to cut the cat but follow the line. Remembering too, that everything wasn’t mine. To this day, she kept everything, and every card and every present from all of her students. Always wishing that every student thought for her caring message, that she had sent to them.
Goodbye Mrs. Oliver, mother whom I had called on my first day of school, your teaching is here to stay.
Your daughter,
Betty Anne.
